Horse racing tips: Dave Nevison's best bets for Wednesday - Racing TV

1.40 Nottingham: Rogue Bear

He won't be 14-1 this time, but after scoring for us in good style earlier this month, I am not going to desert Tom Clover's improver over the same course and distance on Wednesday.

He is drawn wider this time, but his running style means that he won't be battling for the early lead and David Egan is on board again.

The ground conditions are similar and, even though he has 6lb higher mark to contend with here, that would not have stopped him winning last time out and he is still lightly raced, so I certainly expect another good run.

2.15 Nottingham: Wrenthorpe

This horse was a course and distance winner in mid-October last season and came back to form off a reduced mark last time out at Nottingham when narrowly beaten after attempting to make all.

He clearly enjoys this track and Bryan Smart had a nice winner when I was at Redcar on Monday - he also had one at Catterick on Tuesday - so the stable seems in pretty good form for this time of the season.

Wrenthorpe runs off the same mark he last won off here and looks set to lead, so clearly has plenty in his favour.

4.55 Nottingham: Almufeed

He might have a row of duck eggs by his name but hasn't run too badly in two handicaps so far and might be worth chancing over what looks an ideal trip for him.

Three runs, when sent off at huge odds, got him a mark of 63 and he has been dropped further to 59 now.

He has a decent draw and a good young amateur claiming 3lb against his colleagues, which will help. He didn't seem unsuited by soft ground earlier in the season at Windsor, either, and conditions should suit on Wednesday.
